A Jet2 flight bound for London Stansted was evacuated on Friday due to a reported bomb threat. The plane was at Tenerife South Airport preparing to depart when passengers were ordered to disembark for security reasons.
According to Spanish news outlet Atlantic Hoy, Guardia Civil officers checked the plane after one person made a bomb threat. Passengers who were already taking their seats were told to leave the plane as a security measure.
All customers set to board the flight and their luggage were checked before the aircraft was given the green light for departure. The Jet2 LS1536 flight was scheduled to leave at 11:20 am local time but was delayed until 2:01 pm.

The flight safely landed at Stansted at 5:49 pm. A spokesperson for Jet2 confirmed an incident had disrupted the schedule of one of the company’s flights, stating that customers were asked to disembark a flight at Tenerife South Airport following an incident involving a passenger onboard.
The spokesperson apologized to everyone onboard for the delay and any inconvenience caused. The incident also caused some disruption to other flights at Tenerife South Airport, with some delays recorded in the afternoon.
An easyJet flight from Manchester to Hamburg had to return to its departing airport due to a technical issue with the aircraft. A Virgin Atlantic flight departing from Manchester had to return to the British airport following a minor technical issue, which disrupted its journey to New York.
